Provincetown beaches have always been one of the main reasons tourists are visiting all year round. Swimming and enjoying water sports, or walking along the beach with your loved one and your pet on a breezy autumn afternoon, Provincetown beaches offer a wide variety of experiences for you to enjoy. Conveniently located just outside of the Provincetown center, Beachfront White Sands Motel offers you access to the loveliest attractions of Cape Cod, and of course to our beautiful private beach and the surrounding beaches.
Provincetown is surrounded with some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. It is no wonder that tourists flock around them to enjoy the lovely scenery and the clean waters. Most of those are easily accessible, both by public transportation and via bikes. Provincetown has both harbor beaches and ocean beaches located at Race Point.
Harbor Provincetown Beaches: Herring Cove
Herring Cove Beach, is almost a mile away from Provincetown. You can expect lovely sand, mild waves and several whale watching opportunities in the distance. Sunset at Herring Cove Beach is also exceptional, as with most Provincetown beaches. You can also arrange a peaceful picnic late in the afternoon, or an energetic hike in the surrounding areas. No matter what you choose, you will not leave Herring Cove without having an amazing time.
Another important aspect to keep in mind is that part of the beach is more family oriented and the other part is more vibrant, youthful and gay- friendly. It is also important to note that the lifeguard covers only a small part of this immense beach, which extends as far as the eye can see.
The warmth of the water is also an important point that the regulars bring up, as Herring cove is the warmest of all Provincetown beaches. It is situated near the Harbor and is practically within the Cape Cod bay, rather than on the side of the ocean. Race Point, our next pick, an ocean Provincetown beach is relatively colder than Herring Cove.
Ocean Provincetown Beaches: Race Point
Race Point Beach is your best bet when it comes to ocean beaches. Its facilities and constant lifeguard watch also make it an ideal place to visit with your family. Situated at the end of Cape Cod Race Point Beach is accessible both on foot and by a shuttle boat. If you still think that the distance is too much, just think of the amazing lighthouse that will be the end of your “journey”. A local favorite and an old time classic with children as well as with adults, the lighthouse is a Cape Cod classic, and definitely worth going the extra mile.
Surfing is also allowed in Race Point Beach. If you are eager to take on a new sport, or if you already are a surfing enthusiast, Race Point is the right place for you. Embrace the experience and have the time of your life on the waves of the Atlantic!
